00 HOUSE BILL NO. 75 01 "An Act relating to driver's licenses and alcohol awareness testing." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 28.15 is amended by adding a new section to read: 04 Sec. 28.15.085. Alcohol awareness examination of applicants. 05 Notwithstanding another provision of this chapter and in addition to other 06 requirements, a person applying for a new license after expiration of the person's 07 license on reaching 21 years of age under AS 28.15.099, a person 21 years of age or 08 older applying for a new license, and a person renewing a license for the first time 09 after the effective date of this Act must pass a test developed and administered by the 10 department regarding alcohol awareness and safety and the laws relating to alcohol 11 and driving before the license may be issued or renewed. The license issued to a 12 person after the person has passed this test must state that the person has passed the 13 alcohol awareness test. 14 * Sec. 2. AS 28.15 is amended by adding a new section to read: 15 Sec. 28.15.099. Expiration and renewal of license issued to person under
01 21 years of age. Notwithstanding another provision of this chapter, a driver's license 02 issued to a person under 21 years of age expires at the end of the month when the 03 person reaches 21 years of age.
