00                             HOUSE BILL NO. 73                                                                          
01 "An Act making a special appropriation for a grant to the Alaska Railbelt Energy                                        
02 Authority Joint Action Agency to construct a wind farm on Fire Island and transmission                                  
03 lines to connect the wind farm to existing electrical infrastructure in Anchorage; and                                  
04 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
06    * Section 1. The sum of $24,000,000 is appropriated from the Railbelt energy fund                                  
07 (AS 37.05.520) to the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development                                       
08 for payment as a grant under AS 37.05.316 to the Alaska Railbelt Energy Authority Joint                                 
09 Action Agency for construction of a wind farm on Fire Island and transmission lines to                                  
10 connect it to existing electrical infrastructure in Anchorage.                                                          
11    * Sec. 2. The appropriation made by this Act is for a capital project and lapses under                             
12 AS 37.25.020.                                                                                                           
13    * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
