00 HOUSE BILL NO. 2 01 "An Act relating to the vocational education account and appropriations from that 02 account; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 37.10 is amended by adding a new section to read: 05 Article 4A. Vocational Education Account. 06 Sec. 37.10.200. Vocational education account. (a) The vocational education 07 account is created in the general fund. 08 (b) The account consists of 09 (1) appropriations made by the legislature to the fund; 10 (2) gifts, bequests, and contributions; and 11 (3) income and earnings of the account. 12 (c) Money in the vocational education account may be appropriated by the 13 legislature to the state and political subdivisions of the state, including regional 14 educational attendance areas and municipal school districts, for vocational education
01 programs and courses approved by the commissioner of labor and workforce 02 development in consultation with the commissioner of education and early 03 development for any other public purpose. 04 (d) Nothing in this section dedicates funds for a specific purpose. 05 (e) In this section, "vocational education" includes vocational training 06 programs and courses taught at the secondary and postsecondary level of education. 07 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
