00                        SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 201                                                                       
01 Establishing a Senate Special Committee on Natural Gas Development.                                                     
02 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE:                                                                                           
03       WHEREAS the governor has called a special session of the legislature for the purpose                            
04 of considering a proposed contract under the Alaska Stranded Gas Development Act together                               
05 with legislation related to that Act and legislation related to other oil and gas matters; and                          
06       WHEREAS, because of the complexity of the issues and the short duration of a                                  
07 special session, it is essential that members of the Senate Finance Committee and Senate                                
08 Resources Committee be fully involved in consideration of the proposed contract and all                                 
09 legislation that may be associated with it at the earliest possible time; and                                           
10       WHEREAS it is possible that these issues will be addressed in more than one special                             
11 session;                                                                                                                
12       BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate that a Senate Special Committee on Natural Gas                                     
13 Development is established to consider a proposed contract under the Alaska Stranded Gas                                
14 Development Act and legislation related to that Act or to other oil and gas matters that may                            
15 affect the proposed contract, including oil and gas taxation; and be it                                                 
16       FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of the Senate Finance Committee and the                                       

01 members of the Senate Resources Committee shall serve as members of the Senate Special                                  
02 Committee on Natural Gas Development; and be it                                                                         
03       FURTHER RESOLVED that the president of the senate shall designate a member of                                   
04 the Senate Special Committee on Natural Gas Development to chair the committee; and be it                               
05       FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate Special Committee on Natural Gas                                               
06 Development may meet during and between sessions of the Twenty-Fourth Alaska State                                      
07 Legislature and is terminated on the convening of the First Session of the Twenty-Fifth                                 
08 Alaska State Legislature.
