01 "An Act exempting the state and its political subdivisions from daylight saving time."                                  
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 44.12 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04                        Article 5.  Standard Time.                                                                     
05            Sec. 44.12.400.  Exemption from daylight saving time.  Under 15 U.S.C.                                     
06       260a, this state exempts itself and all of its political subdivisions from observation of                         
07       advanced time, also known as daylight saving time, between 2:00 a.m. on the first                                 
08       Sunday in April and 2:00 a.m. on the last Sunday in October in each calendar year,                                
09       and the entire state and all of its political subdivisions shall observe the standard time                        
10       that is otherwise applicable during that time period.
