01 Establishing a House Special Committee on Ways and Means.

03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:                                                                       
04      WHEREAS it is urgent that the state government bring its spending and revenue into                               
05 balance to ensure that essential services are provided and to protect the economic stability of                         
06 the state;                                                                                                              
07      BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives that a House Special Committee                                    
08 on Ways and Means is established to                                                                                     
09           (1)  consider methods to control state spending;                                                              
10           (2)  identify ways in which state government programs may be made more                                        
11 efficient; and                                                                                                          
12           (3)  propose new measures to raise additional state revenue; and be it                                        
13      FURTHER RESOLVED that the speaker of the House of Representatives shall                                          
14 determine the number of representatives to be members of the committee and shall appoint                                
15 the members and designate a member to chair the committee; and be it                                                    
16      FURTHER RESOLVED that the House Special Committee on Ways and Means                                              

01 may meet during and between sessions of the Twenty-Fourth Alaska State Legislature and is                               
02 terminated on the convening of the First Session of the Twenty-Fifth Alaska State Legislature.
