01 "An Act making an appropriation for an upgrade of signal system emergency devices in                                    
02 Anchorage, contingent upon matching funds from the Municipality of Anchorage; and                                       
03 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY, AND ECONOMIC                                                       
06 DEVELOPMENT. (a) The sum of $1,950,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the                                     
07 Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development for payment as a grant                                      
08 under AS 37.05.315 to the Municipality of Anchorage for installing and upgrading signal                                 
09 system emergency vehicle preemption devices to increase emergency vehicle safety.                                       
10       (b)  The appropriation made in (a) of this section is contingent on the Municipality of                           
11 Anchorage providing local matching funds of $950,000.                                                                   
12    * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
