00 HOUSE BILL NO. 213 01 "An Act relating to alcohol server education." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 04.21.025(b) is amended to read: 04 (b) The subjects that are included in an approved alcohol server education 05 course shall be determined under regulations adopted by the board. In approving 06 alcohol server education courses, the board shall consider the needs of both urban and 07 rural licensees regarding access to an approved alcohol server education course. A 08 licensee, agent, or employee who sells or serves alcoholic beverages shall keep the 09 card described in (c) of this section or other proof acceptable to the board of 10 successful completion of an approved alcohol server education course on the licensed 11 premises during working hours. 12 * Sec. 2. AS 04.21.025(c) is amended to read: 13 (c) A licensee, agent, or employee shall complete the course required under (a) 14 of this section and pass a written test demonstrating an understanding of the 15 course subjects not more than 30 days after being licensed or employed. The course

01 provider shall issue a card to each individual who completes the course and 02 passes the written test. A card issued under this subsection is valid for three 03 years from the date of issue. A licensee, agent, or employee may renew a card 04 issued under this section; to renew the card, the licensee, agent, or employee must 05 pass a written test demonstrating an understanding of the course subjects.
