00 CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 148(JUD) 01 "An Act relating to human trafficking; and providing for an effective date." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 11.41 is amended by adding new sections to read: 04 Sec. 11.41.310. Human trafficking in the first degree. (a) A person 05 commits the crime of human trafficking in the first degree if the person compels or 06 induces another person to come to this state to engage in sexual conduct, adult 07 entertainment, or labor in the state by force or threat of force against any person, or by 08 deception. 09 (b) In this section, 10 (1) "adult entertainment" means the conduct described in 11 AS 23.10.350(f)(1) - (3); 12 (2) "deception" has the meaning given in AS 11.46.180; 13 (3) "sexual conduct" has the meaning given in AS 11.66.150. 14 (c) Human trafficking in the first degree is a class A felony. 15 Sec. 11.41.315. Human trafficking in the second degree. (a) A person
01 commits the crime of human trafficking in the second degree if the person obtains a 02 benefit from the commission of human trafficking under AS 11.41.310, with reckless 03 disregard that the benefit is a result of the trafficking. 04 (b) Human trafficking in the second degree is a class B felony. 05 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect July 1, 2005.
