00Enrolled SR 1 01 Establishing a Senate Special Committee on World Trade and State/Federal Relations. 02 _______________ 03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE: 04 WHEREAS world trade is of increasing importance to the economy of the state; and 05 WHEREAS legislation enacted by the federal government has far reaching impact on 06 the economy of the state; and 07 WHEREAS there is renewed interest in the Congress of the United States in 08 exploring the ramifications of federal legislation on the states and their economies; and 09 WHEREAS the legislature should take an active role in exploring opportunities to 10 promote world trade and assist the Congress in understanding the effect of federal legislation 11 on the state's economy; 12 BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate that a Senate Special Committee on World Trade 13 and State/Federal Relations is established to study issues relating to world trade and 14 state/federal relations; and be it 15 FURTHER RESOLVED that the president of the Senate shall determine the number 16 of senators to be members of the committee and shall appoint the members and designate a

01 member to chair the committee; and be it 02 FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate Special Committee on World Trade and 03 State/Federal Relations may meet during and between sessions of the Twenty-Third Alaska 04 State Legislature and is terminated on the convening of the First Session of the Twenty- 05 Fourth Alaska State Legislature.
