00 SENATE BILL NO. 358 01 "An Act relating to the performance of railroad track construction work for the 02 Department of Transportation and Public Facilities by the Alaska Railroad 03 Corporation." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 36.30.015 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 06 (j) Notwithstanding the other provisions of this chapter, when a project of the 07 Department of Transportation and Public Facilities includes construction of rails, ties, 08 or ballast for railroad tracks used by the Alaska Railroad Corporation, the Department 09 of Transportation and Public Facilities may enter into an agreement with the Alaska 10 Railroad Corporation for the Alaska Railroad Corporation to perform the work, and 11 the Alaska Railroad Corporation may perform the work itself without procuring a 12 contractor to provide the supplies, services, professional services, or construction 13 services necessary for the work.
