00 SENATE BILL NO. 132 01 "An Act removing the Old Minto townsite from the Minto Flats State Game Refuge; 02 and authorizing the Department of Natural Resources to convey certain land at the 03 historic Old Minto site to the Minto Village Council." 04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 * Section 1. AS 16.20.037(3) is amended to read: 06 (3) Township 1 North, Range 8 West, Fairbanks Meridian 07 Sections 1 - 16 08 Sections 21 - 28, excl. ASLS 95-37 09 Section 35: E1/2 10 Section 36; 11 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 12 read: 13 CONVEYANCE OF LAND AT THE HISTORIC OLD MINTO SITE. (a) Subject to 14 valid existing rights, including easements, reservations, rights-of-way, and any vested and
01 accrued water rights, and excepted and reserved from the conveyance a right-of-way for 02 ditches and canals constructed by the authority of the United States under 43 U.S.C. 945 (Act 03 of August 30, 1890, 26 Stat. 391), the commissioner of natural resources shall convey to the 04 Minto Village Council the following land: Alaska State Land Survey No. 95-37, within 05 unsurveyed Section 28, Township 1 North, Range 8 West, Fairbanks Meridian, containing 06 approximately 31.42 acres, more or less, according to the survey plat filed in the Nenana 07 Recording District on May 7, 1997, as plat no. 97-4. 08 (b) The commissioner shall retain a reversionary interest in the disposal described in 09 (a) of this section. 10 (c) The commissioner shall ensure, by deed restriction, covenant, or otherwise, that 11 the disposal described in (a) of this section serves a public purpose and is in the public 12 interest.
