01 "An Act authorizing priority treatment of certain permit applications."                                                 
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 46.35 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04               Article 3.  Priority Treatment of Permit Applications.                                                  
05            Sec. 46.35.400.  Priority treatment of permit applications.  A resource                                    
06       agency or an agency issuing one of the permits listed in AS 46.35.200(4) shall,                                   
07       consistent with the provisions of the laws administered by the agency, process a                                  
08       permit application made necessary due to a decision of a resource agency on an                                    
09       expedited basis and, notwithstanding any other provision of law, with precedence over                             
10       any like matter pending before the agency if requested to do so by the applicant.  In                             
11       this section, "resource agency" means the Department of Environmental Conservation,                               
12       the Department of Fish and Game, and the Department of Natural Resources.
