01 "An Act relating to application for and payment of 2003 and 2004 dividends of certain                                   
02 individuals serving in the armed forces; and providing for an effective date."                                          
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section                         
05 to read:                                                                                                                
06       APPLICATION FOR 2003 AND 2004 DIVIDENDS.  (a)  An otherwise eligible                                              
07 individual who was eligible for hostile fire or imminent danger pay while serving on active                             
08 duty as a member of the armed forces of the United States during the application period for                             
09 the                                                                                                                     
10            (1)  2003 dividend may apply for it within 90 days after the effective date of                               
11 this Act;                                                                                                               
12            (2)  2004 dividend may apply for it within 90 days after the effective date of                               
13 this Act.                                                                                                               
14       (b)  AS 43.23.011 and 43.23.055(2) do not apply to the application for a payment of                               

01 dividends under this section.                                                                                           
02    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
