01 "An Act requiring an auditable paper trail for electronic voting machines; and                                          
02 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 15.20.900 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                          
05            (c)  The director shall provide for a paper record of each electronically                                    
06       generated ballot that can be reviewed and corrected by the voter at the time the vote is                          
07       cast and used for a recount of the votes cast at an election in which electronically                              
08       generated ballots were used.                                                                                      
09    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
