00 HOUSE BILL NO. 345 01 "An Act relating to fees for state park developed campsites; and providing for an 02 effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 41.21.026(d) is amended to read: 05 (d) The department shall, for an annual fee of $10, issue [FREE OF 06 CHARGE TO DISABLED VETERANS OF THIS COUNTRY] an annual state park 07 developed campsite permit to (1) a disabled veteran of this country who is a 08 resident of this state, or (2) a resident of this state who is 60 years of age or older. 09 The permit shall allow a disabled veteran or senior citizen to use a state park 10 developed campsite for personal recreation use without a charge or fee under (a)(2) of 11 this section. While utilizing a developed campsite without charge under this 12 subsection, the disabled veteran or senior citizen shall comply with all other statutes 13 or regulations pertaining to the use of the developed campsite. The department shall 14 provide a form for use by a disabled veteran or senior citizen when applying for a
01 permit under this section. Not later than February 1 of each year, the department shall 02 prepare a report on the number of permits issued to disabled veterans and senior 03 citizens under this subsection during the previous calendar year and notify the 04 legislature that the report is available. 05 * Sec. 2. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
