00 HOUSE BILL NO. 307 01 "An Act relating to employment of sex offenders and child kidnappers." 02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 03 * Section 1. AS 11.56 is amended by adding a new section to article 5 read: 04 Sec. 11.56.845. Applying for, accepting, or engaging in prohibited 05 employment by sex offender or child kidnapper. (a) A person commits the crime 06 of applying for or acceptance of prohibited employment by a sex offender or child 07 kidnapper if the person is required to register under AS 12.63.010 08 (1) and the person does not disclose to the other person, group, or 09 organization that the person is required to register under AS 12.63.010 when the 10 person applies for or accepts a position as an employee or volunteer with another 11 person, group, or organization, and in that position, the person 12 (A) would be working directly and in an unaccompanied 13 setting with a minor on more than an incidental or occasional basis; or 14 (B) have supervisory or disciplinary power over a minor; or 15 (2) for a crime where the victim was under 16 years of age at the time
01 of the offense and the person is an employee or volunteer with another person, group, 02 or organization, and in that employment or volunteer position, the person 03 (A) would be working directly and in an unaccompanied 04 setting with a minor on more than an incidental and occasional basis; or 05 (B) have supervisory or disciplinary power over a minor.
