00 HOUSE BILL NO. 288 01 "An Act changing the name of the Department of Community and Economic 02 Development." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section 05 to read: 06 PURPOSE. The purpose of this Act is to change the name of the Department of 07 Community and Economic Development to the Department of Commerce. 08 * Sec. 2. AS 44.17.005(8) is amended to read: 09 (8) Department of Commerce [COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC 10 DEVELOPMENT] 11 * Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 12 read: 13 REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION. (a) Wherever in the Alaska Statutes and the Alaska 14 Administrative Code the terms "Department of Community and Economic Development" or
01 "commissioner of community and economic development" are used, they shall be read, 02 respectively, as "Department of Commerce" and "commissioner of commerce" when to do so 03 would be consistent with the purpose of this Act. 04 (b) Under AS 01.05.031, the revisor of statutes shall implement this section in the 05 statutes, and, under AS 44.62.125(b)(6), the regulations attorney shall implement this section 06 in the administrative code.
