01 "An Act relating to municipal property tax adjustments for property affected by a                                       
02 disaster."                                                                                                              
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 29.45.230(a) is amended to read:                                                                  
05            (a)  The municipality may by ordinance provide for assessment or                                         
06       reassessment and reduction of taxes for property destroyed, damaged, or otherwise                                 
07       reduced in value as a result of a [NATURAL] disaster.                                                             
08    * Sec. 2.  AS 29.45.230(d) is amended to read:                                                                     
09            (d)  In [ENACTING] an ordinance [OR RESOLUTION] authorized by this                                           
10       section, the municipality may establish criteria for the reduction of taxes on                            
11       property damaged, destroyed, or otherwise reduced in value as a result of                                     
12       disaster, and may, consistent with this section, prescribe procedures, restrictions, and                      
13       conditions for [OF] assessing or reassessing property and of remitting, refunding, or                         
14       forgiving taxes.
