01 "An Act prohibiting sales of certain soft drinks in public schools."                                                    
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 14.03 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                 
04            Sec. 14.03.135.  Sale of certain soft drinks prohibited.  (a)  Between the                                 
05       hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. during a day in session at a public school as                                    
06       described under AS 14.03.040, carbonated soft drinks and soft drinks that contain 42                              
07       or more grams of sugar per 20-ounce serving may not be sold in a public school                                    
08       building or on public school property.                                                                            
09            (b)  This section does not apply to soft drinks that contain at least 50 percent                             
10       fruit juice.
