00 SENATE BILL NO. 216 01 "An Act making an appropriation to the University of Alaska Anchorage, School of 02 Engineering, for a study of road design problems associated with studded tires and for 03 recommendations regarding timing of construction contract awards; and providing for 04 an effective date." 05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 06 * Section 1. The sum of $50,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the University of 07 Alaska Anchorage, School of Engineering, for 08 (1) a study of, and a comprehensive report with recommendations on, road 09 structure design problems associated with the use of studded tires and with road construction 10 materials, specifically base course, paving, and drainage; and 11 (2) recommendations regarding the timing of construction contract awards in 12 order to best complement sound construction practices. 13 * Sec. 2. The appropriation made by this Act is for a capital project and lapses under
