00 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 170(L&C) 01 "An Act relating to wage and hour protections for employees of the Alaska Railroad 02 Corporation; and providing for an effective date." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 42.40.710 is amended by adding a new subsection to read: 05 (b) Except as provided in this subsection, employees of the corporation are 06 covered by AS 23.10.050 - 23.10.150 (Alaska Wage and Hour Act). If the terms of a 07 collective bargaining agreement that was mutually agreed upon by an organization 08 representing train or engine service employees and the corporation so provide, 09 AS 23.10.050 - 23.10.150 do not apply to train or engine service employees to the 10 extent set out in the collective bargaining agreement. 11 * Sec. 2. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to 12 read: 13 APPLICABILITY. (a) This Act applies to work performed on or after the effective 14 date of this Act.
01 (b) This Act does not terminate or modify the terms of a collective bargaining 02 agreement in effect on the effective date of this Act. 03 * Sec. 3. This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
