01 "An Act making an appropriation for a grant to Arctic Power to promote the opening of                                   
02 the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil and gas exploration and development; and                                    
03 providing for an effective date."                                                                                       
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  GRANT TO ARCTIC POWER.  The sum of $1,500,000 is appropriated from                                   
06 the general fund to the Department of Community and Economic Development for payment                                    
07 as a grant under AS 37.05.316 to Arctic Power for education efforts to open the coastal plain                           
08 of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for oil and gas exploration and development.                                     
09    * Sec. 2.  The appropriation made by this Act lapses June 30, 2006.                                                
10    * Sec. 3.  This Act takes effect immediately under AS 01.10.070(c).
