00 HOUSE BILL NO. 339 01 "An Act extending the termination date of the Board of Chiropractic Examiners; and 02 relating to chiropractors." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 08.03.010(c)(5) is amended to read: 05 (5) Board of Chiropractic Examiners (AS 08.20.010) -- June 30, 2006 06 [2002]; 07 * Sec. 2. AS 08.20 is amended by adding a new section to read: 08 Sec. 08.20.141. Licensure by credentials. The board may issue a license by 09 credentials to an applicant who pays the appropriate fee and presents satisfactory proof 10 that 11 (1) the applicant possesses a license or certificate of registration issued 12 by another jurisdiction; 13 (2) the applicant has either 14 (A) successfully passed all sections of the examination of the

01 National Board of Chiropractic Examiners that are required by the board at the 02 time of application; or 03 (B) been in the active clinical practice of chiropractic in the 04 other jurisdiction for the five years immediately preceding application for a 05 license under this chapter; and 06 (3) the license or certificate from the other jurisdiction is in good 07 standing, including that 08 (A) no action has been reported in the national licensee 09 database of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards; 10 (B) the applicant has not, within the five years preceding the 11 date of application, been the subject of an unresolved review or an adverse 12 decision based on a complaint, investigation, review procedure, or disciplinary 13 proceeding undertaken by a foreign, state, territorial, local, or federal 14 chiropractic licensing jurisdiction, chiropractic society, or law enforcement 15 agency that relates to criminal or fraudulent activity, chiropractic malpractice, 16 or negligent chiropractic care and that adversely reflects on the applicant's 17 ability or competence to engage in the practice of chiropractic or on the safety 18 or well-being of patients; and 19 (C) the applicant has not been convicted of a felony within the 20 five years preceding the date of application. 21 * Sec. 3. AS 08.20.180(a) is amended to read: 22 (a) An applicant for an examination, reexamination, issuance of a temporary 23 permit under AS 08.20.160, issuance of a locum tenens permit under AS 08.20.163, 24 issuance of a license by credentials under AS 08.20.141, one-time issuance of a 25 retired status license, or initial issuance or renewal of an active or inactive license shall 26 pay a fee established under AS 08.01.065.
