01 "An Act making a special appropriation for a grant to Boys and Girls Clubs of                                           
02 Southcentral Alaska for a youth suicide prevention program; and providing for an                                        
03 effective date."                                                                                                        
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the                                   
06 Department of Health and Social Services for payment as a grant under AS 37.05.316 to the                               
07 Boys and Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003, for a                            
08 youth suicide prevention program that includes drug, alcohol, and teen pregnancy prevention,                            
09 education and career development, leadership and character development, conflict resolution                             
10 and violence prevention, and fitness and social recreation programs.                                                    
11    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 2002.
