The song "Alaska's Flag," with music composed 05 by Elinor Dusenbury and words by Marie Drake and Carol Beery Davis, is the 06 official song of the state. The words of the official song are as follows: 07 Alaska's Flag 08 Eight stars of gold on a field of blue - 09 Alaska's flag. May it mean to you 10 The blue of the sea, the evening sky, 11 The mountain lakes, and the flow'rs nearby; 12 The gold of the early sourdough's dreams, 13 The precious gold of the hills and streams; 14 The brilliant stars in the northern sky,

01 The "Bear" - the "Dipper" - and, shining high, 02 The great North Star with its steady light, 03 Over land and sea a beacon bright. 04 Alaska's flag - to Alaskans dear, 05 The simple flag of a last frontier. 06 07 A Native lad chose the Dipper's stars 08 For Alaska's flag that there be no bars 09 Among our cultures. Be it known 10 Through years the Natives' past has grown 11 To share life's treasures, hand in hand, 12 To keep Alaska our Great Land; 13 We love the northern, midnight sky, 14 The mountains, lakes, and streams nearby. 15 The great North Star with its steady light 16 Will guide all cultures, clear and bright, 17 With nature's flag to Alaskans dear, 18 The simple flag of the last frontier.
