00SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 2 01 Dedicating the Terry Miller Gallery of the Chamber of the Alaska Senate to Cliff 02 Groh. 03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE: 04 WHEREAS Senator Cliff Groh's qualities of diplomacy and intelligence won him 05 leadership of the Senate Finance Committee in 1973; and 06 WHEREAS Cliff Groh helped lead the fight for statehood as a founder of "Little Men 07 for Statehood" and as the first chair of "Operation Statehood"; and 08 WHEREAS Cliff Groh's hometown of Anchorage honored him as its School Board 09 President, Mayor Pro-Tem, and Charter Commission Chair; and 10 WHEREAS Cliff Groh is fondly remembered for his annual portrayal, in stovepipe 11 hat and frock coat, of Abraham Lincoln because Cliff not only looked and talked like the 12 Great Emancipator, but Cliff's integrity, sense of humor, and compassion likened them to each 13 other in the minds of many; 14 BE IT RESOLVED by the Alaska State Senate that, upon the effective date of a bill

01 passed by the Twenty-First Alaska State Legislature and enacted into law naming Capital 02 School in Juneau as the Terry Miller Legislative Office Building, the public gallery of the 03 chamber of the Senate that is now known as the Terry Miller Gallery be dedicated to Senator 04 Cliff Groh; and be it 05 FURTHER RESOLVED that a bronze plaque shall be placed on the door of the 06 gallery designating it as the Cliff Groh Gallery.
