01 "An Act related to grants to nonprofit regional corporations for village public                                         
02 safety officers."                                                                                                       
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 18.65.670(b) is amended to read:                                                                  
05  (b)  With funds appropriated for that purpose, the commissioner of public                                             
06 safety shall provide grants to nonprofit regional corporations for village public safety                                
07 officers.   The costs of a nonprofit regional corporation to administer a grant                                        
08 received under this subsection may not exceed 15 percent of the total amount of                                         
09 the grant.
