00CS FOR SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 35(JUD)                                                                            
01 Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Alaska relating to                                           
02 participation in an abortion.                                                                                           
03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                              
04    * Section 1.  Article I, sec. 22, Constitution of the State of Alaska, is amended to read:                         
05  Section 22.  Right of privacy.  The right of the people to privacy is recognized                                    
06 and shall not be infringed.   Nothing in this constitution requires a health care                                      
07 facility or person to participate in an abortion.   The legislature shall implement this                               
08 section.                                                                                                                
09    * Sec. 2.  The amendment proposed by this resolution shall be placed before the voters of                          
10 the state at the next general election in conformity with art. XIII, sec. 1, Constitution of the                        
11 State of Alaska, and the election laws of the state.
