00HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2                                                                                                  
01 Establishing a House Special Committee on World Trade and State/Federal                                                 
02 Relations.                                                                                                              
03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES:                                                                         
04  WHEREAS world trade is of increasing importance to the economy of the state; and                                       
05  WHEREAS legislation enacted by the federal government has far reaching impact on                                       
06 the economy of the state; and                                                                                           
07  WHEREAS there is renewed interest in the Congress of the United States in exploring                                    
08 the ramifications of federal legislation on the states and their economies; and                                         
09  WHEREAS the legislature should take an active role in exploring opportunities to                                       
10 promote world trade and assist the Congress in understanding the effect of federal legislation                          
11 on the state's economy;                                                                                                 
12  BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives that a House Special Committee                                          
13 on World Trade and State/Federal Relations is established to study issues relating to world                             
14 trade and state/federal relations; and be it                                                                            

01  FURTHER RESOLVED that the speaker of the House of Representatives shall                                                
02 determine the number of representatives to be members of the committee and shall appoint                                
03 the members and designate a member to chair the committee; and be it                                                    
04  FURTHER RESOLVED that the House Special Committee on World Trade and                                                   
05 State/Federal Relations may meet during and between sessions of the Twentieth Alaska State                              
06 Legislature and is terminated on the convening of the First Session of the Twenty-First Alaska                          
07 State Legislature.
