00HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 51 01 Relating to support for H.R. 2924, which allows certain Alaska Native Vietnam 02 veterans and the Elim Native Corporation to select land under the Alaska Native 03 Claims Settlement Act. 04 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 05 WHEREAS Representative Don Young has introduced H.R. 2924, which amends the 06 Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act to allow additional land selections to be made under that 07 Act by certain Alaska Natives who are Vietnam veterans and by the Elim Native Corporation; 08 and 09 WHEREAS allowing these additional selections under the Alaska Native Claims 10 Settlement Act would serve the interests of the state and the people of Alaska; 11 BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature supports H.R. 2924 and urges 12 the United States Congress to pass and President Clinton to sign this legislation as 13 expeditiously as possible. 14 COPIES of this resolution shall be sent to the Honorable Bill Clinton, President of the
