01 "An Act relating to the boards of commissioners of regional Native housing                                              
02 authorities."                                                                                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 18.55.996(d) is amended to read:                                                                  
05  (d)  The governing body of the association in question shall, after determining                                       
06 that it wishes to have a regional native housing authority, appoint  not fewer than  five                             
07 persons to serve as the  initial  board of commissioners of the authority.  The term of                               
08 office of each member is for three years except that, of the commissioners first                                        
09 appointed, one shall serve for a term of one year and two shall serve for a term of two                                 
10 years.  Vacancies shall be filled by the governing body of the association in question.
