01 "An Act relating to charter schools."                                                                                   
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
03    * Section 1.  FINDINGS.  The legislature finds that the following issues relating to charter                       
04 schools are in need of review and possible enactment:                                                                   
05   (1)  funding equity for charter school students;                                                                      
06   (2)  charter school use of existing public school facilities;                                                         
07   (3)  alteration of the limit on the number of charter schools;                                                        
08   (4)  extending the length of allowable contract limits between a charter school                                       
09 and a school district; and                                                                                              
10   (5)  extending the charter school statutory sunset date.
