01 "An Act relating to an exemption from overtime wage requirements for certain                                            
02 motor vehicle mechanics."                                                                                               
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                               
04    * Section 1.  AS 23.10.060(d) is amended by adding a new paragraph to read:                                        
05   (17)  work performed by a mechanic primarily engaged in the servicing                                                
06 of motor vehicles if the mechanic is employed as a flat-rate mechanic by a                                              
07 nonmanufacturing establishment primarily engaged in the business of selling or                                          
08 servicing motor vehicles; in this paragraph, "motor vehicles" does not include boats                                    
09 or aircraft.                                                                                                            
10    * Sec. 2.  The amendment to AS 23.10.060(d) made by sec. 1 of this Act applies to work                             
11 first performed on or after the effective date of this Act.
