01 "An Act relating to the extension of contracts for the sale and delivery of in-                                         
02 bond merchandise at international airports."                                                                            
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 02.15.091 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                            
05  (g)  Notwithstanding the other provisions of this section and the provisions of                                       
06 the contract being extended, the department may extend a contract for the sale and                                      
07 delivery of in-bond merchandise at an international airport if the contractor agrees and                                
08 if the department determines that the extension is in the best interest of the state and                                
09 is designed to maintain or improve the competitive position of the airport in the                                       
10 marketplace.
