01 "An Act relating to prorating the amount available for distribution to                                                  
02 municipalities from the municipal assistance fund; and providing for an effective                                       
03 date."                                                                                                                  
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  AS 29.60.360(b) is amended to read:                                                                    
06  (b)  If the amount appropriated to the municipal assistance fund by the                                               
07 legislature during a fiscal year is insufficient for distribution of the full base amount                               
08 to each municipality, the department shall prorate the amount available for distribution                                
09 [ON THE BASIS OF AMOUNTS RECEIVED DURING THE FISCAL YEAR 1978                                                           
10 UNDER AS 43.70.080].                                                                                                    
11    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1996.
