01 "An Act naming the new maritime ferry vessel Koniag."                                                                   
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  PURPOSE.  In accordance with AS 19.65.020, this Act provides that the new                              
04 maritime ferry vessel currently being designed and constructed by the Department of                                     
05 Transportation and Public Facilities for addition to the Alaska marine highway system shall                             
06 be named after the Koniag Glacier on Kodiak.                                                                            
07    * Sec. 2.  AS 19.65.020 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                               
08  (d)  The maritime ferry vessel being designed and constructed for the Alaska                                          
09 marine highway system on the effective date of this Act is named Koniag.
