01 "An Act relating to the management of anadromous fisheries."                                                            
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1. AS 16.05 is amended by adding a new section to article 5 to read:                                       
04  Sec. 16.05.735.  MANAGEMENT FOR TERMINAL ANADROMOUS                                                                   
05 FISHERIES.  (a)  Subject to provisions of applicable treaties, the Board of Fisheries                                   
06 and the department shall, consistent with their respective authority under this title and                               
07 to the extent practicable, give priority to the harvest of anadromous fish by terminal                                  
08 fisheries over the harvest by nonterminal fisheries.                                                                    
09  (b)  In this section, "terminal fishery" means a fishery occurring in, or in salt                                     
10 water adjacent to, a river, a river system, or group of rivers in which fisheries are                                   
11 managed as a unit.
