01 "An Act relating to the use of off-road vehicles in the vicinity of the Dalton                                          
02 Highway."                                                                                                               
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 19.40.210 is amended to read:                                                                       
05  Sec. 19.40.210.  PROHIBITION OF OFF-ROAD VEHICLES.  Off-road                                                          
06 vehicles are prohibited on land within five miles of the right-of-way of the highway.                                   
07 However, this prohibition does not apply to                                                                             
08   (1)  off-road vehicles                                                                                             
09   (A)  being used in support of lawful trapping; or                                                                 
10   (B) necessary for oil and gas exploration, development,                                                           
11 production, or transportation;  or                                                                                    
12   (2)  [TO] a person who holds a mining claim in the vicinity of the                                                 
13 highway or operates a trapline in the vicinity of the highway and who must use                                        
14 land within five miles of the right-of-way of the highway to gain access to the mining                                  

01 claim or the trapline.
