01 "An Act making an appropriation to the Department of Public Safety for the                                              
02 construction or the purchase and upgrade of a fishery law enforcement vessel;                                           
03 and providing for an effective date."                                                                                   
04 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
05    * Section 1.  The sum of $4,100,000 is appropriated from the fish and game fund                                      
06 (AS 16.05.100), from the proceeds of the settlement of State of Alaska v. Arctic Alaska                                 
07 Fisheries Corp. (Case No. 3AN-93-8453 Civ.), to the Department of Public Safety for either                              
08 the construction or the purchase and upgrade of a seaworthy vessel of at least 150 feet that                            
09 is suitable for fishery law enforcement activities in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska.                            
10    * Sec. 2.   The appropriation made by this Act is for a capital project and lapses under                             
11 AS 37.25.020.                                                                                                           
12    * Sec. 3.   This Act takes effect July 1, 1996.
