01 "An Act increasing the elective share of a surviving spouse."                                                           
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 13.11.070(a) is amended to read:                                                                    
04  (a)  If a married person domiciled in this state dies, the surviving spouse has                                       
05 a right of election to take an elective share of one-half [ONE-THIRD] of the                                          
06 augmented estate under the limitations and conditions hereinafter stated.                                               
07    * Sec. 2.  This Act does not apply to the elective share of a surviving spouse unless the                            
08 decedent died on or after the effective date of this Act.
