00HOUSE BILL NO. 364 01 "An Act amending the definition of the offense of unlawful interference with 02 voting in the first degree, a class C felony, to include conduct related to inducing 03 a person to vote or to refrain from voting at an election and conduct related 04 to acceptance of something offered or given to vote or to refrain from voting in 05 an election." 06 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 07 * Section 1. AS 15.56.030(a) is amended to read: 08 (a) A person commits the crime of unlawful interference with voting in the 09 first degree if the person 10 (1) uses, threatens to use, or causes to be used force, coercion, violence, 11 or restraint; or if the person inflicts, threatens to inflict, or causes to be inflicted 12 damage, harm, or loss upon or against another person to induce or compel that person 13 to vote or refrain from voting for a candidate in an election or for any election 14 proposition or question;
01 (2) gives, promises to give, offers, or causes to be given or offered 02 money or other valuable thing to a person with the intent to induce the person to vote 03 or to refrain from voting at an election, or to induce the person to vote for or 04 refrain from voting for a candidate at an election or for an election proposition or 05 question; or 06 (3) solicits, accepts, or agrees to accept money or other valuable thing 07 with the intent to vote or to refrain from voting at an election, or with the intent 08 to vote for or refrain from voting for a candidate at an election or for an election 09 proposition or question.
