01 "An Act relating to cooperative road maintenance agreements."                                                           
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 19.20 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
04  Sec. 19.20.091.  COOPERATIVE ROAD MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTS.                                                             
05 The department may enter into an agreement with a municipality with a population of                                     
06 25,000 or more persons for the joint maintenance, minor repair, and snow plowing of                                     
07 state and municipal roads within the boundaries of the municipality.  The department                                    
08 may not adopt a regulation to implement, interpret, or make more specific this section.                                 
09 In this section, "regulation" has the meaning given in AS 44.62.640.
