01 "An Act increasing the minimum term of imprisonment for assaults in the fourth                                          
02 degree committed against a peace officer, fire fighter, correctional officer,                                           
03 emergency medical technician, paramedic, ambulance attendant, or other emergency                                        
04 responders."                                                                                                            
05 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
06    * Section 1.  AS 12.55.135(d) is amended to read:                                                                    
07  (d)  A defendant convicted of assault in the fourth degree upon a uniformed or                                        
08 otherwise clearly identified peace officer, fire fighter, correctional officer, emergency                               
09 medical technician, paramedic, ambulance attendant, or other emergency responder                                        
10 who was engaged in the performance of official duties at the time of the assault shall                                  
11 be sentenced to a minimum term of imprisonment of 120 [30] days.                                                      
12    * Sec. 2.  This Act applies to all offenses committed on or after the effective date of this                         
13 Act.
