01 "An Act relating to an advisory vote during regional educational attendance area                                        
02 school board elections; and providing for an effective date."                                                           
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 14.08.071 is amended by adding a new subsection to read:                                            
05  (d)  If a regional school board adopts a resolution requesting that an advisory                                       
06 question be placed on that regional school board's next election ballot, the division of                                
07 elections shall place the advisory question on that regional school board's next election                               
08 ballot.  A resolution described in this subsection must be filed with the division of                                   
09 elections on or before the first Friday in August of the year in which the advisory                                     
10 question is required to be placed on the ballot.                                                                        
11    * Sec. 2.  This Act takes effect July 1, 1993.
