01 "An Act relating to repayment of money appropriated from the budget reserve                                             
02 fund."                                                                                                                  
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 37.10 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
05  Sec. 37.10.430.  REPAYMENT OF APPROPRIATIONS.  (a)  If the amount                                                     
06 appropriated from the budget reserve fund for a fiscal year or any previous fiscal year                                 
07 has not been repaid under art. IX, sec. 17(d), Constitution of the State of Alaska, the                                 
08 Department of Administration shall transfer to the budget reserve fund the amount of                                    
09 money comprising the unreserved, undesignated general fund balance to be carried                                        
10 forward as of June 30 of the fiscal year, or as much of it as is necessary to complete                                  
11 the repayment.  The transfer shall be made after the annual financial report is filed                                   
12 with the governor under AS 37.05.210(2) for a succeeding fiscal year.                                                   
13  (b)  In this section, "unreserved, undesignated general fund balance" is money                                        
14 not restricted by law to a specific use that accrues to the general fund according to                                   

01 accepted principles of governmental or fund accounting adopted for the state                                            
02 accounting system established under AS 37.05.150 in effect on July 1, 1990.                                             
03    * Sec. 2.  AS 37.10.420(b) is repealed.
