01 "An Act relating to liability insurance and bond requirements for guide-outfitters                                      
02 or marine mammal guide-outfitters."                                                                                     
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 08.54.395(a) is amended to read:                                                                    
05  (a)  A guide-outfitter or marine mammal guide-outfitter, while engaged in                                             
06 providing big game commercial hunting services shall carry, as a minimum,                                               
07 comprehensive general liability insurance of $300,000 per occurrence or $500,000 per                                    
08 annual aggregate or post a financial or cash bond in those amounts.                                                   
09    * Sec. 2.  AS 08.54.395(c) is amended to read:                                                                       
10  (c)  During the provision of big game commercial hunting services, an aircraft                                        
11 used by a guide-outfitter, marine mammal guide-outfitter, class-A assistant                                             
12 guide-outfitter, or assistant guide-outfitter to transport clients must carry aviation                                  
13 passenger liability insurance of at least $100,000 per seat or must be subject to a                                     
14 financial bond in that amount.  This subsection does not apply to an aircraft while                                  

01 that aircraft is being used by a guide-outfitter or marine mammal guide-outfitter                                       
02 who                                                                                                                     
03   (1)  contracts to guide-outfit five or less hunts a year;                                                            
04   (2)  transports clients by aircraft for less than 30 hours a year; and                                               
05   (3)  includes in the contract for guide-outfitter services a statement                                               
06 that the aircraft used to transport clients is not covered by the minimum aviation                                      
07 passenger liability insurance or the bond that is otherwise required under this                                         
08 subsection.
