01 "An Act relating to innocent misrepresentations by agents in real property                                              
02 transfers."                                                                                                             
03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
04    * Section 1.  AS 09.65 is amended by adding a new section to read:                                                   
05  Sec. 09.65.170.  INNOCENT MISREPRESENTATIONS BY AGENTS IN                                                             
06 REAL PROPERTY TRANSFERS.  The agent of a transferor or transferee is not liable                                         
07 for an innocent misrepresentation in information provided to the transferor or transferee                               
08 in the transfer of an interest in real property if the agent does not have personal                                     
09 knowledge of the error, inaccuracy, or omission that is the basis for the                                               
10 misrepresentation.                                                                                                      
11    * Sec. 2.  This Act applies to causes of action that accrue on or after the effective date of                        
12 this Act.
