01 "An Act relating to the introduction of bills and resolutions by legislators."                                          
02 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA:                                                                
03    * Section 1.  AS 24.08.060(a) is amended to read:                                                                    
04  (a)  A [MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATURE OR A] committee chair                                                             
05 [CHAIRMAN], with the concurrence of a majority of the active members of the                                             
06 committee and on behalf of the committee, may introduce a bill or resolution.  During                                  
07 the two-year period of a legislature a member may introduce as prime sponsor                                            
08 no more than 12 measures including both bills and resolutions.  A measure the                                           
09 member cosponsors is not counted towards this total if another member is the                                            
10 prime sponsor.  Bills and resolutions shall be prepared and introduced in the manner                                   
11 and form prescribed in the uniform rules and the legislative style manual.
