00HOUSE BILL NO. 486 01 "An Act relating to fish and wildlife law enforcement officers of the Department 02 of Public Safety." 03 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 04 * Section 1. AS 44.41 is amended by adding a new section to read: 05 Sec. 44.41.050. FISH AND WILDLIFE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS. 06 (a) The commissioner of public safety shall dismiss an employee of the Department 07 of Public Safety who is empowered to enforce the fish and wildlife laws of the state 08 and who 09 (1) has been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony violation of 10 AS 08.54, AS 16.05 - AS 16.43, a regulation adopted under AS 08.54 or AS 16.05 - 11 AS 16.43, or a federal fish, wildlife, or guide-outfitting law; or 12 (2) holds an active guide-outfitter license of any class under AS 08.54 13 in violation of AS 08.54.393. 14 (b) The Department of Public Safety may not employ a person to enforce the
